The Haverford School District is seeking an Assistant Director of Human Resources to oversee the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department. Full-time 12-month position starting July 1, 2023.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists Director of Human Resources in process regarding recruitment to fill administrative, professional, support staff, and substitute vacancies with the best, most qualified candidates, including but not limited to the oversight of the posting/advertising process, maintenance of recruitment software, and serving as liaison with hiring managers to ensure appropriate recordkeeping and timely communications with candidates.
- Support the human resources team through collaboration, guidance and supervision of Confidential Secretaries/Administrative Assistants
- Assists the Director of HR in the administration of employee relations concerns, such as staff disciplinary issues, bargaining unit grievances, performance issues, and other employee concerns
- Oversee Volunteer Clearances for the school district.
- Oversee Leave of Absence/Family Medical Leave Act
- Oversee required staff trainings applicable to HR through online platforms for all staff
- Supports the Director of HR in the maintenance of the personnel Board policies, job descriptions, and administrative guidelines, including assisting in periodic reviews and updates, and serving as a resource for any clarification of such policies.
- Assist team with the onboarding of new employees
- Assist in streamlining employee records, processes, and procedures (e.g. personnel files, evaluations, certifications, licensing).
- Assist in the certification process for staff
- Provide HR support to district staff
- Assists the Director of HR to coordinate programs and create communication materials to assist in staff orientation and ongoing professional development regarding personnel policies and guidelines
- Assist the Human Resources Director in Title IX compliance issues
- Acts as a proxy for the Human Resource Director as needed in their absence
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years in related fields and/or equivalent experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
- Experience in personnel management in recruiting and FMLA is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
